As part of the Burton Leonard Feast festivities, the church held an open air service followed by a picnic on the green on Sunday 8th July at 4pm.
Over 50 adults and 12 children joined us for a fun filled time,
made all the more special by having two sketches from Riding Lights Theatre Company based in York.
The sketches were on two Bible stories - the healing of the paralytic man and Jesus feeding his disciples on the beach after his resurrection.
Whether your picnic was a sandwich, chocolate wafer and thermos of tea, or a very civilised pork pie, homemade quiche, salads and bottle of wine, a good time afterwards was had by all.
Then in the evening Riding Lights performed "Acts of Fun, Faith and Folly" in the Village Hall which was well supported and a great time was had by all. The young actors gave us very poignant moments, talking about the dangers of social media, to very amusing takes on the Feeding of the 5000, as well as two sketches about prayer.
Thanks must be given to David Marfleet and Louise Fields for all their hard work in organising these two events.
